Community Involvement & Giving Back
We appreciate your REFERRALS and ask you to SHARE in our cause
The Ten Eyck Group has been in business since 1905. We are a business built on relationships and trust. It is our mission to put clients first, always do right by them and never lose our sense of purpose. That purpose is to help people in need. Loss can be devastating and we take it personally. After all, it’s why we’re here. Here to help you plan, prevent and protect all that you hold dear. If the unspeakable happens, we will be there to help you pick up the pieces and rebuild your world. Let us put our talents, experience and purpose to work for you.
Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” In 2024, we aim to make a difference in the communities that surround us. In 2017, we created a Referral Reward Program to collaborate with our clients to give back. For every person you refer to us that results in a quote, we will gift $10 (in recognition of you) to our charity of the quarter. Our staff has voted and our chosen charities for 2024 are as follows…
1st Quarter: Albany Housing Coalition Inc.
2nd Quarter: The Food Pantries of the Capital District
3rd Quarter: Mohawk Hudson Humane Society
4th Quarter: The Caring Closet
Together, we can make a greater impact to help those in need. Thank you for being a part of who we are and what we do!

The Fisher House here in Albany is a remarkable place where families of veterans receiving care at the VA can stay free of charge to provide respite to tired families. For the first time in our 116-year history, we have created the Ten Eyck Group Insurance Scholarship. In 2021, we made this scholarship available at the Guilderland and Voorheesville High Schools. In the photo shared, Noah Manzella is seen with Principal Michael Piscitelli at the Guilderland High School receiving his scholarship.

Just a small sampling of items collected to benefit the guests of the Schenectady City Mission. Last month, staff gathered clothing, toys, books, games and household items to donate to the mission.
Sadly, too many have been negatively affected by the pandemic. We hoped that a little sharing of ourselves and these items with could help bring some joy and comfort to those who need a helping hand.
Continuing our challenge to gather and recycle bottles and cans. This act of recycling is done to benefit our 2021 Change Matters recipient; the Fisher House Foundation. In addition to recycling, we proudly display a coin drop on our front counter (even better now that people are coming into the office), to remind folks that "If they don't like change, leave it here" to benefit this worthy cause.
We sincerely appreciate your trust and confidence when you refer us to your friends, family and business associates. In the most recent quarter, we earned 29 referrals making a donation of $290 possible to benefit the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
In addition to our recycling efforts, we save the tabs for another charity that is near and dear to our hearts; The Ronald McDonald House. It may not seem like much but every action has a reaction. Make it a positive one!
"At the end of the day, it's not about what you have or even what you've accomplished. It's about who you've lifted up, who you've made better. It is about what you have given back." – Denzel Washington

Promoting our Change Matters initiative encouraging staff and all our friends to donate spare change and bottle return proceeds to prove that any amount of change really does matter. We proudly announced our 2021 Change Matters recipient as the Albany Fisher House Foundation who opens their home to families of Veterans who need their help during a stressful time in their life. Help us help them in any way you can or find a cause of your own and share some hope. Our world needs it.
Simple Gestures of Giving in appreciation for their sacrifice. Simple Gestures of Giving for their care and our concern. Simple Gestures to help fill the Fisher House with a little more love and hope. We provided much-needed items to the Fisher House, keeping our veterans and those who care and support them in your thoughts, prayers and in your everyday actions. For more information, please visit U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

It is with great honor that we share our Caring for Community initiative to benefit the Fisher House Foundation and those they serve. Since COVID prevents us from providing them a home cooked meal, we have been purchasing items of need - paper products, soap & disinfectant wipes and individually packaged snacks or meals. A huge thank you to our work family for keeping the Fisher House in our thoughts all year long.
Help us by filing their house with even more love by dropping off items here at our office or by visiting their website. Thank you for sharing hope.
We would like to thank clients for their referrals . We sincerely appreciate their confidence in us to always do right by them, their friends and family. It is because of them that we were able to make a donation of $290 to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Upstate New York/Vermont Chapter, and we can't thank them enough! #makeadifference
Prior to the onset of the Pandemic, we had the opportunity to prepare a full dinner to our friends at the Ronald McDonald House Charity! It's unimaginable the heartache and stress these families are under. In some small way, we hope the benefit of enjoying a home cooked meal will ease the burden, if, but for an hour or so.
In March 2020, New York State banned the use of plastic bags. We've since purchased and distributed reusable bags to help our planet and to help minimize our clients' and employees' costs of purchasing bags elsewhere.
In addition to making a monetary donation as part of our Referral Rewards campaign, we have been busy purchasing essentials and clothing for guests of the Albany Housing Coalition for Veterans Housing and Services.
Change Matters
We believe that change, even just a little bit, will make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Each year, we choose a local charity to benefit by donations made through a coin drop and bottle recycling initiative. It was a campaign that started three years ago to demonstrate that Change, literally and figuratively, can make a difference. We are proud to announce that our staff has chosen the Schenectady City Mission to be the recipient for our 2020 Change Matters campaign.
The Mission's goal is to provide not only Help for today, but Hope for tomorrow. We want to help people who are in need right now by meeting basic needs like food, shelter and clothing. Providing these life essentials are at the core of who they are.
To raise awareness to their mission and ours, we have displayed a coin jar with the mission's logo on the front counter at our office at 1924 Western Avenue, Albany, New York. We created an account with Clynk at Hannaford in Guilderland for staff to return bottles whereas donations are held in account in the mission's honor. At the conclusion of 2020, the Schenectady City Mission will receive 100% of the donations made to our Change Matters campaign.
Mahatma Gandhi said "You must be the change that you wish to see in the world." We pledge to do our part and be part of that change - our world needs it. Please help our cause by sharing your "change", bottle returns and Hope for a better tomorrow for everyone.
We recently delivered our team's collected goods to the City Mission of Schenectady as part of our Change Matters campaign. We shared from the heart hoping that our actions create a ripple effect to give selflessly. During our efforts throughout the year, we try to live the Mission's goal "Provide help for today and hope for tomorrow." We at Ten Eyck Group are proud of who we are and what we do.
