Ten Eyck Group President, Charlie Barnes, was pleased to meet with Jennifer Lewke, Investigative Reporter for Channel 6 News, last week to answer her questions regarding what to expect regarding fluctuations in homeowners rates over the next few months due to the winter storms of last year. Like all financially-related businesses, insurance can be influenced by a number of factors which impact their bottom line. Certainly weather-related losses are high on the list of concerns. Only time will tell to see how pricing is affects us all.
In the meantime, we recommend that you use the nice weather to clean gutters, fix loose flashing, make minor repairs to the exterior of your home and get a head start on winter. Remember that your safety and the well-being of your family and loved ones should be your paramount concern. Replace batteries in your smoke, fire and carbon monoxide alarms. Keep us informed of upgrades made to the roof, electrical, plumbing and heating and ask us to check your discounts to ensure that you are getting the proper credits for all these items.
Please call on us to review what you have now, answer any questions or concerns and/or to provide you with a detailed quote so you have an up to date snapshot of your insurance protection.
Charles T. Barnes, CIC
President
